AKA – also known as the voice of love, pleasantly askew and Sam to his mum – is a local soldier of the underground with a genuine lust for music, the dance floor and dark spaces!
Taking cues from the historical, pioneering house and techno of the 90’s, through to experiences partying away on the modern floor, he is an obsessed digger of tunes. From the slow and groovy to the weird and mechanical, expect only handpicked tunes while he’s directing.
With his crew, Phantoms and Excursions, he has helped build a small but passionate house/techno community in the Illawrra with parties such as HEADSUP, RAVE, and LAZE hosting talented locals and internationals akin to Dyed Soundorom, Lee Curtiss, Emerson Todd, Housemeister & Djedjotronic.

Exploring outside his background in ambient & beats production under alter ego ‘Reactionary’, Jake’s dance-oriented sets display a diverse and discerning taste for house (from labels like Night Slugs, Strictly Rhythm & Hot Haus Records); techno (Hunter-Gatherer & Ostgut Ton); and UK bass & footwork (especially 50 Weapons, Planet Mu & Hyperdub releases).
